Behind the Label

Fashion is one of the largest consumer goods industry in the world and the second most pollutant. Now more than ever, we have a chance and a responsibility to rethink the business model we want for the future. We have created a new concept that creates balance between our needs and the planet’s health by co-creating with you made to measure pieces while consuming fashion in a more sustainable way.

The fast fashion business model with a new trend every month is creating a terrible impact on the planet. In average, our population only wears garments 7 times and then they end up in landfills. We believe good design is timeless so we do not aim to promote quick trends. Instead, we aim to co-create exclusive, high quality and sustainable pieces that don’t become obsolete with the changing of seasons.

Today, already ¾ of our materials are eco-friendly, we have given a second life to more than 400 meters of fabrics, we have reused most of our surplus fabrics to produce tote bags and 100% of our shipping boxes are made from recycled cardboard. These actions are part of a bigger plan whose final commitment is being able to develop, in the near future, the most environmentally friendly brand we can be.

I’ll leave you with this promise and thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to grow by your side.”

Responsible production model

The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world. One of the main reasons is the overproduction, which results in an increase of wastage. In order to avoid overproducing, we involve you on our design process since the beginning, so we can produce exactly what you are looking for.

You will be able to create your own unique designs in the “made to measure” section in our website. Our made to measure designs are very limited since we use surplus fabrics coming from designers, factories or Couture Houses. This allow us to give a second life to precious fabrics that would otherwise end up in landfill.

You can choose a standard size or order a tailored piece by specifying how long would you like your piece to be in the “order notes” section at the checkout. We will make sure that you receive your item in the size and length you ordered. We do not have stock of the made to order pieces so the delivery can take between 3 working days and 2 weeks, depending on our studio’s work overload. All our made to measure pieces are designed and produced locally in London to reduce the CO2 emissions due to long distance shipping.

With the aim of offering you better delivery timings, twice a year and based on your favourite styles, we release a limited edition collection that is designed, sourced and produced carefully and responsibly. We start with small quantities of each product, and only make more if we know you want it, based on direct data and feedback. This keeps our production less wasteful, and exclusive. We like making you feel special. Items from our collection will be delivered 3 to 5 working days after we receive your order.

Eco-friendly materials

Up to 2/3 of the sustainability impact of fashion happens at the raw materials stage. That is why we spend all the time needed to source fabrics that will help us have the minimum possible impact.

92 million tonnes of textiles waste ends up in landfills each year worldwide. That is why we have decided to use only surplus fabrics coming from designers, factories or Couture Houses for the production of our made to measure designs. This allows us to give a second life to precious fabrics that would otherwise end up in landfill.

In regards to our collections, since we launched our brand our goal has always been to reduce the consumption of natural resources. That’s why we decided to use recycled materials, such as recycled cotton or polyester, that come from recycled sources and can be recycled many times. We also use natural fibers that are rapidly renewable, plant-based and have a potential for circularity such as Tencel, Linen and Viscose. We use luxury materials like silk because of their high quality, durability and the fact that they require very little water and energy use in caring for them. However, animal welfare is very important to us so we do not use any material for which an animal needs to be harmed.

Nº 03

Sustainable packaging

Following our commitment to eliminate single-use plastics, 100% of our shipping boxes are made from recycled cardboard. The quality of our boxes allows them to be reused so that their life cycle is longer. When the life of these products comes to an end, do not forget to deposit them in the paper containers so that they are recycled and transformed again into high quality materials, thus closing the circle.

With the leftover fabric from our production processes we have decided to make tote bags that we can gift to you when you buy from Musure. This lets us make the most out of our fabrics and you can enjoy this tote bag daily to avoid using disposable bags.

Nº 04

Garment care

We produce all our garments and source our materials following the highest quality standards, aiming to reduce the amount of clothes that are thrown away. We ensure our garments fit and perform exactly as they need to and we work in close partnership with our manufacturers to maintain the high quality we expect of ourselves.

We have included the care instructions of the garments you purchase in your order confirmation email so you can always have the information available. Following our product care instructions will help make sure that your piece has a long life.

We hope that you cherish your Musure products for a long time and don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
